Game 1 goes to the Red Sox!
Jon Lester threw three-hit ball for 7 2/3 innings, surrendering just two runs on two solo home runs as the Red Sox rout the Rays in Game 1 of the ALDS Friday in Boston.
Down 2-0 in the 4th, the Red Sox rallied for 5 runs, aided by a Wil Myers misplay of a David Ortiz flyball to right field. Every Red Sox starter had at least one hit as they knocked out Tampa starter Matt Moore after just 4 1/3 innings of work.
Lester struck out 7 while surrendering a pair of solo home runs to Sean Rodriguez and Ben Zobrist as Tampa built an early 2-0 lead.
Offensively, Jarod Saltalamacchia led the way with 3 RBI's while Jonny Gomes and Shane Victorino (3 hits) also drove in a pair of runs a piece.
Game 2 is Saturday in Boston with John Lackey facing David Price.
