Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has been cleared to play Sunday against the Jets according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Per .@AdamSchefter Drew Rosenhaus said, "Rob Gronkowski has now been cleared by all his doctors to play Sunday in the Jets game." #CW28
In Friday morning's press availability, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick did not comment on Gronkowski's status. Instead, he said any updates would be on the injury report at the end of the day.
Gronkowski is coming back from four surgeries on his broken forearm as well as minor back surgery in the offseason. If he plays Sunday at the Jets, it will mark his 2013 season debut and help a Patriots offense that will welcome him back with open arms. WR Danny Amendola suffered a concussion in last Sunday's win over the Saints and hasn't practiced at all this week.
Gronk's presence should be felt immediately in the Red Zone where the Patriots have just 9 TD's in 22 trips.
