Patriots Dennard sentenced for probation violation

Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has been sentenced on a probation violation Thursday in a Nebraska courtroom.  Dennard, who had asked for a continuance of the sentencing, had his probation extended for a year (now 3 years), had a no alcohol provision added to the conditions of the probation, added more community service hours and will now have to start a 60 day jail sentence on March 1, 2014.  With good behavior, that sentence will be reduced for 38 days, 3 of which he's already served.

Dennard still has the matter of sentencing for his DUI arrest earlier this year to be heard.

For the time being, Dennard will not miss any time during the 2013 NFL season with the Patriots.
