Non-Vital RIde Program Trips Cancelled for Tomorrow
The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced today that due to the effects of the winter storm, seven bus routes will be on detour starting today until further notice. RRIPTA passengers should anticipate a 30-minute delay on all routes due to weather conditions. The safety of our employees and passengers is RIPTA's top priority. RIPTA apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for the public's understanding as we work around the clock to resume service.
The following routes are on detour today, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 until further notice:
Service to High Service Avenue suspended; service will terminate at Shaw's Plaza.
Service to Stop & Shop suspended; bus will terminate at the Sisson Street turnaround.
Service to Georgiaville Manor suspended.
Service to Bay View Apartments suspended.
Service to West House suspended.
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Maple Street, right onto Maple Street, right onto West Main Road, left onto Beacon Street and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Hillside and Beacon Streets, right onto Beacon Street, left onto West Main Road, left onto Maple Street and then resume regular route.
Service to Bay Campus will turn around at the Visitors Center; service will not loop around campus.
Service to Morin Heights and Fairmount suspended.
