P-Bruins advance to round 2

P-BRUINS DEFEAT FALCONS 6-3, ADVANCE TO ROUND 2

Springfield, MA
– The Providence Bruins defeat the Springfield Falcons Saturday night in Game 5 of their
Round 1 series by a final score of 6-3. The P-Bruins’ Seth Griffith scored twice while Joe Morrow,
Alexander Khokhlachev, Matt Lindblad, and Ryan Spooner also scored. Niklas Svedberg made 21
saves in the victory.

The Falcons scored in the first period at the 4:27 mark. Michael Chaput scored his second playoff
goal this year with Sean Collins and Tim Erixon credited with the assists. The P-Bruins bounced back
at the 8:59 mark. Joe Morrow earned his first playoff goal this season off the assist of Fallstrom. The
Falcons scored on the power play at the 9:56 mark. Ryan Craig scored with the assists going to Carter
Camper and Frederic St. Denis. The P-Bruins made a goaltending change as Svedberg replaced
Malcolm Subban. At the 11:01 mark, Craig scored again for his third goal of the postseason. Dana
Tyrell and Darryl Boyce registered the assists.

The P-Bruins took control with the first of Griffith’s two goals scored at the 11:55 mark. The assists
were awarded to Khokhlachev and Chris Casto. Griffith scored again shortly after at the 13:33 mark
for his second goal of the playoffs to help the P-Bruins tie the game at 3. The assists went to Matt
Lindblad and Mike Moore. The Falcons made a goaltending change after the P-Bruins third goal.
Mike McKenna was relieved by Anton Forsberg. Khokhlachev scored his second playoff goal at the
16:14 mark. Morrow and Blake Parlett were given the assists. The P-Bruins led 4-3 over the Falcons
into the first intermission.

In the second period, the P-Bruins extended their lead to 5-3 at the 13:06 mark. Matt Lindblad assists.
P-Bruins ahead 5-3 into the second intermission.

In the third period, Spooner scored an empty-net goal at the 18:35 mark with Matt Fraser assisting to
complete the series win with a 6-3 victory.

The P-Bruins move on to Round 2 of the 2013-14 Calder Cup Playoffs against the Wilkes-Barre/
