Cranston Public Library to Host Book Talk With Popular Local Author

Popular local, Dominican-American author Ana Arelys Cruz Cabrera will present her latest bilingual poetry collection, Inspiration of the Soul /Inspiración del Alma, at a free event at the Cranston Public Library, Central Library on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 5:30 pm. Guest speakers will read selections from the collection, which focuses on the subjects of family, identity and love.  

Cruz Cabrera, the Keynote Speaker for the 2013 Dominican Independence and Heritage Award Committee of Rhode Island (DIHACRI), is an active promoter of Dominican cultural awareness and her events have historically drawn large crowds which include local politicians and literary enthusiasts alike.

Cruz Cabrera's books are frequently printed bilingually. Inspiration of the Soul will be her third book, but her first collection of poetry. Previous publications include Tourist Guide: Santo Domingo y Providence (2012) and Contrast of Two Cities, Providence and Santo Domingo / Contraste de dos Ciudades, Santo Domingo y Providence (2011).
