New Gloria Gemma License Plates Are Finally Here!
PAWTUCKET, RI (September 5, 2014)
— The first round of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation's new “Ribbon of Hope” license plates were recently completed and will be available for pick-up:
What: “Ribbon of Hope” License Plate Drive Thru Pick-Up Event
When: Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 8AM – 2PM
Where: Warwick Mall, Parking Lot Marker 15 (adjacent to Firestone)
For individuals who have placed an order and are unable to attend, plates will be available for pick-up starting Monday, September 8 at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Cranston.
Proceeds from the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation's new Ribbon of Hope license plate will expand free breast cancer screenings offered through the Rhode Island Department of Health's Women's Cancer Screening Program.
At the event, attendees can also place orders for the new license plate, which costs $41.50 and features the Gloria GemmaBreast Cancer Resource Foundation's trademarked pink ribbon image and the word ‘HOPE' on the side. Additionally, order forms can be found at
In October 2012, Rhode Island lawmakers approved the new plate. State law required the sale of at least 900 sets of license plates before production began.
