Cranston Public Library, RIFLI Hold Free US Citizenship Preparation Classes
Beginning January 2015, the Cranston Public Library will host a free class series for adult immigrants preparing for the US Citizenship Interview and Test. The classes, held at the William Hall Library on Saturdays from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm, will be led by instructors from the Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative (RIFLI). Registration will take place at the William Hall Library on Saturday, January 10th, from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm.
In the past four years, 117 immigrants have successfully passed the citizenship exam and interview after attending RIFLI classes at Cranston Public Library locations. RIFLI–a member agency of the Rhode Island Citizenship Consortium–is a high-performing literacy program specializing in English as a Second Language, job readiness, math, college transition, and computer literacy instruction.
