Widely considered the premier annual sporting event in the United States, nearly 110 million people watched last year's Super Bowl. This year, when the New England Patriots face off against the Seattle Seahawks for Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, Feb. 1, local football lovers of all ages will have a unique venue to watch the big game - the Historic Park Theatre in Cranston.

Beginning at 6 p.m., the Park Theatre will open its doors for a Super Bowl Party the entire family will enjoy. The game will be shown on the Park's wide screen in high-definition sound with snacks, drinks, and popcorn available for purchase. And, best of all, admission to the Theatre for the event is free.

“Normally, during the Super Bowl, adults like to go to sports bars, where children are not admitted. We are very excited to open the Park on Super Bowl Sunday so football fans, along with their entire families, can enjoy the game in a way they never have before,” said Yusuf Gandhi, executive director of the Park Theatre. “From the moment we reopened, our goal was to serve as a resource for the community and this is an example of our commitment - it's going to be a fun night and a great game.”

Due to limited capacity, the Park Theatre encourages those who would like to attend the Super Bowl XLIX party to visit the box office in advance of Feb. 1 or call the box office at 401-467-PARK for more information about the event and reserve seats. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and children are welcome. The Super Bowl will kick off at approximately 6:30 p.m.
