Providence Children's Museum hosts My Sky, an immersive traveling exhibit that encourages children and adults to look up and be inspired by the wonders of the universe. My Sky invites families to explore close-up images of the sun; gaze through a telescope to study the stars and planets; invent new constellations; meet scientists, artists and others who are inspired by the sky above; and much more!
My Sky was produced by Boston Children's Museum in collaboration with Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and NASA; sponsored in Providence by June Rockwell Levy Foundation.Wheels at Work
Wednesdays in July & August • 10:00 AM - Noon
Kids get behind the wheel of a fire truck, sit atop a backhoe loader, examine the equipment in an ambulance, and more. Climb aboard a different vehicle each week! Get Out!
Tuesdays in July & August • 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Get out and play at Providence Children's Museum! Explore the Museum's great outdoors with active hands-on programs in The Children's Garden every week. Create rockets, make solar prints and sundials, mess around with mud and moon sand, and more!No Time to Waste
Mondays, July 6 - August 10 • 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Kids and adults learn what's so funny about trash during an interactive family comedy that gives a lighthearted look at the three R's of protecting the environment – reducing, reusing and recycling. Shows at 10:30 & 11:30 AM and 12:30 & 1:30 PM; recommended for ages 5 and up.

Fridays, July 10, 17 & 24 • 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Meet astronomers from Brown University Science Outreach and experiment with solar telescopes, examine three-dimensional models of asteroids, and create your own constellations.
The Museum is open free every Friday evening June through Labor Day from 5:00 - 8:00 PM for “MetLife Family Friday - Free at Five!,” sponsored by MetLife Foundation.
Thursday, July 16 • 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Mix and mingle with some extraordinarily creative creatures! Families join Big Nazo for an interactive puppet demonstration culminating in a cosmic creature dance party in the Museum's Children's Garden.
Saturday, July 18 & Sunday, July 19 • 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
The Museum's Children's Garden bubbles over with fun as families blow billowing bubbles of all shapes and sizes. Kids use a wide array of wacky tools to build imaginative bubble wands and blowers. Families experiment with different bubble blowing techniques to blow giant bubbles, stretch them into astonishing shapes, and explore their amazing properties.
