Six Flags New England teams up with Mystic Aquarium

Six Flags New England and Mystic Aquarium are teaming up for the first time to celebrate National Aquarium Month at the park. Representatives from Mystic Aquarium will be on-site to educate guests on marine animals and research. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the aquarium's live sea creatures from 1- 3 p.m. outside the entrance to Hurricane Harbor, New England's largest water park.

Six Flags New England will also collect donations of Dawn soap all day outside the park entrance. For over 30 years, Dawn dishwashing liquid has been an important part of rescuing and releasing more than 75,000 animals affected by oil pollution. Park guests who donate soap will receive a $20.15 off main gate admission coupon for every item donated. For each coupon redeemed, Six Flags New England will proudly donate $1 to Mystic Aquarium' conservation, education and research programs.

“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Six Flags New England in celebration of National Aquarium Month,” says Andy Wood, Senior Vice President of External Relations for Mystic Aquarium. “The results of this cooperative effort will be far-reaching.  Above and beyond the fun of admission to Six Flags, the support will help further our mission programs in conservation, education, and research. The ability to interact with the fans of Six Flags New England will allow Mystic Aquarium to educate and ultimately inspire people to care for and protect our ocean planet. And, finally, the product collected will go directly to the aid of marine mammals in need through our Animal Rescue Program.”

The mission of Mystic Aquarium is to inspire people to care for and protect our ocean planet through conservation, education, and research.  Mystic Aquarium supports this mission everyday by:

•         providing educational and scientific programming to advance stewardship with children, within the community and around the globe

•         connecting with adults and children alike to raise awareness about global conservation through meaningful and fun engagements designed to spark action

•         participating in research all over the world with beluga whales

•         rescue and rehabilitation efforts regionally and right here at home through our Animal Rescue Program; nationally with Loggerhead sea turtle conservation;  and internationally  through partnerships to save the endangered African penguins.
