Cranston Public Library Announces Additional Hours at the Arlington Branch
Cranston Public Library is pleased to announce that, beginning August 7, the Arlington Branch will introduce Friday hours, opening from 10:30 am - 4:00 pm. The addition was made possible by Mayor Allan Fung and the Cranston City Council, who approved the Library's request for supplementary public service hours during budget hearings earlier this year.
"We are so appreciative to have the support of Mayor Fung and the City Council in this endeavor," says Library Director, Edward Garcia. "Additional hours such as these will provide us with greater opportunity to serve and support the Arlington and Cranston Senior Enrichment Center communities."
The Arlington Branch works in close collaboration with the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center, sharing a facility at 1064 Cranston Street. The Cranston Senior Enrichment Center's Executive Director, Sue Stenhouse, expresses the value of these additional hours, saying:
"We applaud the operations expansion at the Arlington Branch, located here at the Center. Our reading room is more than just books and computers. It provides information, resources and support for the people in the neighborhood and our Center members. This extraordinary branch offers free access to computers and the internet, providing a special and convenient intergenerational space for learning and growth. We thank the Mayor and the City Council for their vision and support."
The Arlington Branch is located on the first floor of the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center at 1064 Cranston St, Cranston, RI 02920.
Beginning August 7, the complete weekly schedule for the Arlington Branch will be as follows:
Monday: 10:00 am-4:30 pm
Tuesday: 10:00 am-4:30 pm
Wednesday: 10:00 am-4:30 pm
