Raimondo Directs U.S. and Rhode Island Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of the Roseburg, Oregon Shooting Victims
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - In accordance with a Presidential Proclamation, Governor Gina M. Raimondo has ordered the U.S. and Rhode Island flags to be flown at half-staff at all state facilities and buildings. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset, October 6, 2015 in honor of those killed in the Roseburg, Oregon shooting.
"I am deeply saddened by last week's senseless violence in Roseburg, Oregon," said Raimondo. "In memory of the victims and their loved ones, I am ordering all U.S. and Rhode Island flags be lowered to half-staff. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy."
Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders to lower their flags as a mark of respect.
