Red Sox trade Miley to Mariners

The Red Sox have traded lefty starter Wade Miley to the Mariners, the team announced Monday.  Jonathan Aro is also heading to Seattle while the Red Sox receive pitchers Carson Smith and Roenis Elia.

Smith, who averaged over 11 K's per nine innings last season, is a 26-year-old setup man with 2.31 ERA in 70 games last year for Mariners.  Elia is a left-handed starting pitcher who could be headed to Pawtucket.

Miley went 11-11 in 32 starts for the Red Sox in 2015 after being traded from Arizona.
