Cranston Public Library Announces Spring Concert Series
The Cranston Public Library is pleased to announce the return of the Spring Concert Series to the William Hall Library. Supported by the generosity of Dave and the late Judy Pelkey, this free concert series will take place on Saturdays March 26, April 9, and April 23 in the library's auditorium. Performances will feature local jazz musicians and begin at 2:00 PM.
Saturday, March 26 Classics Five Jazz Quintet
The Classics Five Jazz Quintet was founded three years ago with the sole purpose of playing the best music of the American Songbook stylistically with jazz improvisation. The band is comprised of musicians Mike Verrecchia (Electric/Upright Bass), Paul Gruttaduria (Drums/Vocals), James Seaberry (Lead Guitar), Al Testa (Group Founder and Director, Trumpet/Flugelhorn) and Carine Paul (Vocals).
Saturday, April 9 Ten Strings
This acoustic jazz duo, featuring David Spadazzi on guitar and Dennis Pratt on bass, has been performing various jazz standards, bossa nova, and swing tunes for more than ten years.
Saturday, April 23 The Aristocats
The Aristocats deliver swing and jazz music from the great American Songbook, including songs by Berlin, Gershwin, Porter, and Rodgers. The Aristocats feature the talents of musicians Lloyd Kaplan (Clarinet/Tenor Sax), Dennis Pratt (Upright Bass), Joseph Holtzman (Drums) and Nat Piccirilli (Guitar/Banjo).
