William Hall Library Agricultural Fair
William Hall Library to Hold Agricultural Fair on April 16
On Saturday, April 16th, the William Hall Library will kick off the opening of its annual Seed Library with "Seed 'Em & Reap: A How-To Agricultural Fair." This free fair will take place from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, and will feature informational how-to tables focusing on everything from seed starting, small space gardening and composting, to bee and chicken keeping.
Information will be presented by the Edgewood Garden Club, URI Master Gardeners, the Rhode Island Beekeepers Association, and Cluck!. Giveaways include redbud tree seedlings to the first 50 attendees, free soil testing, free seeds, and more.
This will be the third year that the William Hall Library offers the Seed Library, and its free seeds, to the Cranston community. This year, donors include High Mowing Organic Seeds, Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, and seeds provided by local gardeners.
More information about the fair, including directions for collecting soil samples for testing, is available on the Cranston Public Library website at: cranstonlibrary.org/seed-em-reap.
The William Hall Library is located at 1825 Broad Street, Cranston RI 02905.
