The Ground Breaking has commenced for the LONGPLEX Family and Sports Center Opening in Tiverton RI Fall 2016

The massive complex will include fitness, recreational and dining facilities for enthusiasts and competitors, and family-themed activities.

Soon, Southern New England will have a new family friendly facility to help encourage fitness, friendly competition, and an active lifestyle.

LONGPLEX, a 167,000 square foot, 3-level, Family and Sports Center, will be located on Progress Way in Tiverton, and provide indoor and outdoor space for multiple sporting activities and family fun, including four mixed use courts, two turf fields, an outdoor rink, and restaurant. There are also private rooms for birthday parties or conferences.

The second floor will offer 10,000 square feet of gym space, indoor running track, a bouncy house and family amusements. The largest arcade company, Ryan Family Amusements, in New England, will also be located inside the facility.

On the third floor we will be welcoming, University Orthopedics from Providence, their facilities utilize fellowship-trained, sub-specialized physicians to treat a variety of orthopedic problems. Included, on the third floor, we will have spaces for yoga, spin, Zumba and Jounce classes.

Surrounding the complex will be 30 miles of walking trails and space for obstacle course events, 5k races and other track-themed contests.

“It’s time for something new,” said Jim Long, developer of LONGPLEX. “We don’t have anything like this in the area.”

Long, from Middletown, said that the design plan has been in development for three years.

“Everybody is going to love it,” Long added.
