An exhibit exploring history and culture through stories
Embark on a time-traveling adventure through a “time tunnel” to learn about Rhode Island’s immigration history. Explore an imaginative interactive environment that highlights the story of an Irish immigrant who worked on the construction of Fort Adams. And discover an array of intriguing hands-on activities that explore culture and diversity and encourage empathy.

Engineer It! Shadow Science

Explore and experiment during a monthly series of engineering challenges. Kids investigate the science of shadows as they test objects for opacity, play with scale, and use their bodies to interrupt light beams. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Tell Your Story: Shadow Puppets

In celebration of the Museum’s new Coming to Rhode Island exhibit – a time-traveling exploration of history and culture through stories – families tell their own stories with shadow puppets and silhouttes. Explore puppet-making techniques from around the world and create puppets to bring shadows to life.

Doctors at Play

Kids are the doctors today! Assemble a doctor's bag with real hospital supplies like bandages and stethoscopes, give a teddy bear a check-up, and have a cast made on your finger, presented by Hasbro Children's Hospital Child Life Services.
Native American Tales

Storyteller Thawn Harris shares his Narragansett culture through traditional stories and songs and invites visitors to join a traditional Native American social dance. Performances at 1:00 & 2:00 PM; recommended for ages 4 and up.
