PPL Presents Dishing It Out Little Rhody Style: A Panel with Four Local Food Writers in a Special On the Table Empire Club
PROVIDENCE, RI -- Providence Public Library presents a special On the Table edition of its Empire Club: Dishing it Out Little Rhody Style, a Food Writers’ Panel featuring local food writers Christine Chitnis, Amy McCoy, Jane Sigal and Linda Beaulieu. Join the fun as the ‘dish’ about food and writing with moderator Gail Ciampa, Providence Journal Food Editor and restaurant on Sunday, April 2 from 2 – 4 pm in the Library’s Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, 150 Empire Street, Providence. The program is free and open as part of the Library’s On the Table program series from March through June.
Book sale and signing will follow. Register at: Linda Beaulieu is an award-winning food and travel writer. She is the author of Divine Providence: An Insider’s Guide to the City’s Best Restaurants and The Grapevine Guide to Rhode Island's Best Restaurants. She received the prestigious James Beard Award for magazine writing for an article on Native American food, which appeared in the National Culinary Review. Her most recent publication is the New England Orchard Cookbook, October 2016.
Christine Chitnis is the author of Icy, Creamy, Healthy, Sweet (Roost, 2016), Little Bites (Roost, 2015) and Markets of New England(The Little Bookroom, 2011). Her writing has appeared in Country Living, The Boston Globe, and Edible Rhody, among other local and national publications.
Amy McCoy writes shares stories, recipes and decorating tips in her blog Tiny Farmhouse, She is the author of “Poor Girl Gourmet: Eat in Style on a Bare-Bones Budget” and writes for Edible Rhody, Eat Boutique and The Bay Magazine.
Jane Sigal lives and writes in Newport now, but lived in France for 12 years gathering experiences and material to support her writing about the cuisine of France. Her cookbooks include Bistronomy: Recipes from the Best New Paris Bistros, Patisserie and Backroad Bistros, Farmyard Fare. She is the France correspondent and a contributing writer at Food & Wine. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Saveur, the Wall Street Journal, Time Out New York, Everyday with Rachael Ray, Wine & Spirits, Fine Cooking and other publications.
