PC Friars men's basketball announces 2017-18 non-conference schedule

PC Friars Men's Basketball Announces 2017-18 Non-Conference Schedule 

(Providence, RI, May 26, 2017) – Providence College Head Coach Ed Cooley announced the 2017-18 men's basketball team's non-conference schedule on May 25. The non-conference home schedule is highlighted by games versus Big Ten foe Minnesota (November 13) and ACC rival Boston College (November 25). 

The Friars will open their 2017-18 non-conference season on campus at Mullaney Gym in Alumni Hall versus Houston Baptist or Belmont on Friday, November 10. It will mark the Friars first game at Mullaney Gym since 1972. The game will also mark the Friars' first game of the 2K Classic. Tickets information for the November 10 game will be released at a later date. Providence will then play Minnesota in the Gavitt Tipoff Games on Monday, November 13. The Golden Gophers are coached by Friar Alum Richard Pitino. The Friars will then head to New York for two games at Madison Square Garden versus Washington, Virginia Tech or St. Louis in the 2K Classic on November 16-17. Providence will then play its final game of the 2K Classic at the Dunkin' Donuts Center versus Houston Baptist or Belmont on Wednesday, November 22. Providence's next home game will occur on Saturday, November 25 when the Friars host ACC foe Boston College. Following the BC game, the Friars will host Rider on November 29 before travelling to URI to face the Rams on Saturday, December 2. On Wednesday, December 6, Providence will host Brown. The Friars will play at UMass on Saturday, December 9 and will host Stony Brook on Sunday, December 17. On Wednesday Providence will close out its non-conference schedule with a home game versus Sacred Heart on Friday, December 22.
