Providence EMA Announces Amateur Radio Field Day  

American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day 2017 to take place Saturday, June 24, 2017

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Providence Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) chapter of the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (RACES) Club will open their participation in the annual American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day to the public from 2:00PM to 4:00PM on June 24, 2017 in PEMA’s parking lot at 591 Charles Street. ARRL Field Day is one of the most popular on-the-air amateur radio events held annually in the US and Canada. It is estimated that more than 35,000 radio amateurs will gather and operate for this 24-hour Field Day.

Guests are invited to tour the PEMA facility; receive an overview of the agency’s mission and work; learn more about the amateur radio; and operate on-the-air live with a licensed operator.
