Sean Spicer resigns as White House Press Secretary

UPDATE (2:45pm): Anthony Scaramucci has officially been named as White House Communications Director and that Sarah Huckabee Sanders will replace Sean Spicer as press secretary in August. 

Rhode Island native Sean Spicer has resigned Friday as White House Press Secretary. 

The move comes as the White House is set to announce Anthony Scaramucci as its new Communications Director.  Spicer, reportedly, did not agree with that decision.

The White House has called a 2pm press briefing to make it official.
