Providence recreation centers transition to end of Summer schedule
Providence Recreation Centers to Transition to End of Summer Schedule
Waterpark Schedule Extended to September 1, 2017
PROVIDENCE, RI – The City of Providence Monday announced that recreation centers will be transitioning to a revised schedule as the Providence Recreation Department ends a busy summer season and begins preparation for the fall. Changes include an extension to the operating schedule of city waterparks, which will remain open until September 1, 2017, Monday through Friday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
Under the revised schedule Zuccolo, Vincent Brown, John Rollins, Rogers, Joslin and Neutaconkanut recreation centers will be open from 11:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Davey Lopes and the West End recreation centers will be open from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday through Friday. The changes take into account a decline in attendance numbers typically seen at this point of the year.
Additionally, to allow maintenance and program development ahead of the fall season, Pleasant View and Sackett recreation centers will be closed until September 5, 2017 when all centers transition to standard fall hours of operation, opening from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday through Friday.
For more information and to find the nearest open recreation center, residents can call the Providence Recreation Department’s main office at 401-680-7300 or contact the Mayor’s Center for City Services by dialing 3-1-1 or visiting http://www.providenceri.gov/pvd-311/.
