Sabor Latino Fundraiser on September 15 to Feature Cuisine From Local Restaurants
(PROVIDENCE, R.I.) – On Friday, September 15, 6pm, Rhode Island Latino Arts and the Rhode Island Historical Society will present Sabor Latino at the Aldrich House (110 Benevolent St., Providence). This tasting event will feature cuisine from local restaurants like Machu Picchu II, La Casona, Chilangos, and Juliana’s, and attendees can talk with chefs while sampling Peruvian, Colombian, Mexican, and Bolivian fare.
Singer-songwriter Czésare Santana will perform during the evening, and a cash bar will serve margaritas and pisco sours. A fundraising raffle will include prizes from Providence College, the Providence Performing Arts Center, Tallulah’s Taquería, Trinity Repertory Theater, and others. Proceeds from Sabor Latino will benefit RILA and the RIHS. Tickets are $30 before September 8; $40 afterward and at the door.
"Sabor Latino has always been a wonderful opportunity for locals to taste Latino food and to support local businesses," RILA Executive Director Marta V. Martínez said. "Our partnership with the Rhode Island Historical Society will raise awareness about Latino culture, and fits with our mission of building bridges between communities.”
Sabor Latino is presented as part of the RIHS’s 2017 programming theme, Relishing Rhode Island, in addition to the statewide initiative A La Rhody. Tickets are available at http://www.shop-rihs.com/item/sabor-latino-1.
